De Noronha’s Reflection Doors series is an exploration of perception, self-identity, and the layered nature of reality. Expanding beyond her large-scale canvases, this new body of work pushes her artistic language into new dimensions of minimalism and transparency through the use of acetate sheet and acrylic as a medium.
Working with her signature The White Lines, she creates compositions that evoke a sense of depth and reflection, challenging the boundaries between visibility and obscurity. These works encourage the viewer to look beyond the surface, questioning how much of what we see is shaped by external perception versus inner truth.
The inspiration for this series is woven from the fabric of De Noronha’s own journey—a path marked by resilience and displacement, echoing the experiences of those who came before her. Through these pieces, she explores the unseen layers of existence, inviting contemplation on how often we judge what is visible while overlooking the depths that hold the true essence of a life.
By layering lines on acetate, she constructs a refined, minimalist door-like form—both a threshold and an illusion. This series serves as a metaphorical portal, drawing the viewer into a space of introspection, where meaning shifts depending on one’s perspective.
